In 1784,
Fredericton: Thomas Carleton, born in County Tyrone, Ireland, a Colonel of the British 29th Regiment in the American Revolutionary War and appointed New Brunswick's first Governor in 1784. Thomas was the younger brother of Sir Guy Carleton, Lord Dorchester.

Because the month of March is such a special one for those of Irish ancestry, there are more than the usual number of activities taking place. To make for easier viewing we have divided the events into regional pages. However, given that the distance between some cities in New Brunswick is really not that far, please be sure to check events that may be outside of your geographical area. You may find some items you would be willing to drive a little bit to attend! Above all, have fun and drive safely!
