Men of the Deeps
Since 1966, Men of the Deeps have been performing for audiences in Canada and the United States as North America’s only coal miner’s choir. All of the men in the choir are either working or retired coal miners from the island of Cape Breton. The group has traveled far and wide, and they were the first Canadian performing group to tour the People’s Republic of China in 1976. Today Men of the Deeps are more than just a choir, they are a social institution. Clad in overalls and hard hats, this choir makes an impressive impact with every appearance, striking a familiar chord of Canadian pride in everyone who sees and hears them.
