The only child mentioned was Margaret Anne Armstrong, born c1834 at Youghall, d. 1873, m. John McKenzie bp. 1810 at Febait, Urray Parish, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland, d. 1890: moved to Ontario: had issue.

He married (2nd), 16 Jul 1867 in Saint John, Rebecca Hamilton.
