Fredericton: Thomas Carleton, born in County Tyrone, Ireland, a Colonel of the British 29th Regiment in the American Revolutionary War and appointed New Brunswick's first Governor in 1784. Thomas was the younger brother of Sir Guy Carleton, Lord Dorchester.

Edward Elkin born 1785 in Moville Parish, County Donegal, Ireland, d. 1821. He married Ann Murray. He came to NB in 1819 and settled at Cumberland Bay, Waterborough Parish, Queens County.

2) Eneas Elkin married Eleanor Jane Smith and went to Goderich, Ont.
3) Mary Jane Elkin m. Benjamin Dow
4) Robert Elkin m. Sarah Ann Coldwell: settled at Cumberland Bay: had issue
5) William Elkin m. Phoebe Ann McLean
6) Edward Elkin: died unm.
