Fredericton: Thomas Carleton, born in County Tyrone, Ireland, a Colonel of the British 29th Regiment in the American Revolutionary War and appointed New Brunswick's first Governor in 1784. Thomas was the younger brother of Sir Guy Carleton, Lord Dorchester.

ORMOND:

Harry Smith Ormond, born 10 Sep 1784 Maugerville, NB, was the oldest son of George Ormond, a lieutenant in the Queen’s Rangers. Harry Smith Ormond joined the British Army at age 15 and had a distinguished military career, retiring after 45 years service. He died 3 May 1864 at Lincoln, NB. He was married to Betty Cuffe.

The couple had 3 sons and 2 daughters:
1) Harry Ormond
2) - Ormond
3) Gaika Ormond b. about 1826 in South Africa
4) Eliza Ormond m. 1845 in Dublin, Ireland, John Hamilton Gray who became a lawyer in Saint John, NB
5) Charlotte Elizabeth Ormond m. George H. Perley of Lincoln, NB.
