ORMOND:
Harry Smith Ormond, born 10 Sep 1784 Maugerville, NB, was the oldest son of George Ormond, a lieutenant in the Queen’s Rangers. Harry Smith Ormond joined the British Army at age 15 and had a distinguished military career, retiring after 45 years service. He died 3 May 1864 at Lincoln, NB. He was married to Betty Cuffe.
The couple had 3 sons and 2 daughters: 1) Harry Ormond 2) - Ormond 3) Gaika Ormond b. about 1826 in South Africa 4) Eliza Ormond m. 1845 in Dublin, Ireland, John Hamilton Gray who became a lawyer in Saint John, NB 5) Charlotte Elizabeth Ormond m. George H. Perley of Lincoln, NB. PANB:MC1/Ormond, 3 pages: Colonel Ormond served in the British Army in the 49th and 30th Regiments.
