Fredericton: Thomas Carleton, born in County Tyrone, Ireland, a Colonel of the British 29th Regiment in the American Revolutionary War and appointed New Brunswick's first Governor in 1784. Thomas was the younger brother of Sir Guy Carleton, Lord Dorchester.

Bathurst Area

Although Restigouche and Gloucester counties are usually associated with French heritage than Irish, there are indeed several pockets if Irish descendents scattered throughout the counties. The Bathurst Area Chapter of the ICCANB hosts several Irish-related events throughout the year for its members and guests. However, at this time we have no listings for annual events which are open to the general public.

If anyone knows of an event which should be listed in this category, we would welcome the details to be added to our listing. Thank you.
