In 1784,
Fredericton: Thomas Carleton, born in County Tyrone, Ireland, a Colonel of the British 29th Regiment in the American Revolutionary War and appointed New Brunswick's first Governor in 1784. Thomas was the younger brother of Sir Guy Carleton, Lord Dorchester.

Moncton Area

The Moncton area includes the counties of Westmorland, Albert and Kent. While many Irish-related activities take place throughout these counties every year, the main annual event is the Moncton Irish Fest.

If there are other annual Irish-related events that should be listed here, we would welcome submissions to add to our list and provide a more complete picture of the annual celebrations of this section of the province.
