Saint John Area

With the large influx of Irish immigrants that flooded through the Port of Saint John starting after the Napoleonic Wars, it is not surprising that the Saint john Area, which is made up of the counties of Kings and Saint John, has many churches and cathedrals whose early congregations were predominently Irish.

The purpose of this section is to profile the primary or "mother" churches of each county. For profiles of additional churches within this area, please be sure to visit the "Communities and Churches" section of this site.
