Andrew Sherwood, born 1738 in NY, the son of Joseph Sherwood, died 1823. He married (1st), 1756 Martha Currey, born 1739 in Cork, Ireland, the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Stivers) Currey, died 1778. He married, (2nd), widow McCready (nee Hempstead). They were in Hampstead, Long Island until 1778 and came to NB as Loyalists in 1783. They settled on Lower Hammond River at French Village, Hampton Parish, Kings County, NB.
